Mkaes of these things you won’t see when you test drive the car. And most people will mkes out the liquid asphalt or mushroom soup from the oil pan before wh a car for more than a few bucks. If someone maintains a car from brand new or has a good amkes do it, besg may very well lastmiles. Simply put all cars with over 85, miles on them are a pig in a poke.
Everyone is going to tell you how well they maintained it and claim it’s only highway miles, even if they live in New York City. I’ve seen people trying to sell Monwy withmiles on them for several thousand dollars because they are supposed to last forever. In fact, I once checked out a used Corolla with But there was no way I was going to pay I usually buy good cars, that need a little work at under K miles and usually pay about what junk yards pay for scrap.
I do the basic repairs then drive them for 6 months. If the cars still run well, I fix them up. If I get lucky, I get another hundred thousand miles out of. But they all need repairs to get tomiles, without exception. And yes, I once bought a Cordoba with 80K that I couldn’t fix. Kept overheating and ate three transmissions in miles. Needless to say, I lost on that one. I junked it with a No one else deserved that car.
Please don’t confuse people. None are under warranty. Some will go anothermiles with reasonable repairs and maintenance, some will crap out on the way home from buying it. Never pay a lot of money for any who makes the best suv for the money mileage car, regardless of make, model or year.
Toyota may be a better made car overall, but that doesn’t mean the one tue looking at doesn’t have a head gasket that’s about to blow. I’ve done g Scottreat on most high mileage used cars I’ve bought, but I also was a pretty good mechanic who could fix a lot of skv cheap and even I screwed up Mostly Scotty I agree when you tell people to buy it cheap.
That’s great advise, but telling people to buy Toyotas because they will lastmiles is going to get people to overpay for. Yes people should buy a Toyota rather than a Fiat. Atmiles the odds are still in favor for the Toyota and the odds are against the Fiat.
But somewhere in some junkyard there’s a Fiat withmiles on it sitting next to a Toyota withmiles on it. And I’m betting that atmiles the Toyota sold for a lot more than the Fiat, because it was supposed to last Old Adams Scotty: You make a lot of peoples daysI know of several industrial maintenance mechanics that trade in their vehicles whenthe warranty wears out They say I don’t want any problemsThey have the dealership do the oil changes and filters.
So, I agree with you on make a used Toyota HighlanderGet a car that lasts a long time; saves on gas; saves maintenance costs and will run foreverI inherited a auv wheel drive Highlander from my father cuz he bought it in Florida. I said Honey; makse have this conversation next winter LOL. Simon Chuo Some of these highlanders have an 8 speed automatic transmission that shifts oddly.
I dont that itll be any less reliable, but its something to watch out for on highlanders with the 8 speed automatic.
Its incredible for efficiency. I have a Camry with the 8 speed and even at 75 mph, the engine not even turning at 2 thousand rpm Its still at around forr, which is why it can easily get mpg on the highway. I bet the new highlander with the 8 speed could easily get 35 on the highway for v6 equipped ones. Just make sure all the software updates have been.
Fox McCloud Family has an ’04 that they have even driven across the country. Its a Limited edition too which means you get the V6 and some improved amenities by default. Zero issues in 20K miles since last year. Perhaps the ,akes battery will need attention sometime soon, but there is no indication of an issue. Anyway, I think you got fog right, Scotty. What a car. Dan Bandstra Watch the transmissions on the model. Just got a letter from Toyota regarding a tab on a nut in the transmission that may or may not cause the nut to back off and grenade vest transmission. It’s not a recall, but if it happens within a certain amount of time, Toyota will replace the transmission.
If it happens after the magic amount of time, your on your. That’s on top of the pair of seized camshafts and botched Dealer engine rebuild before the thing ever hit 10, miles. Oil changes, tires, break pads and amkes, not a thr more for anything.
Not a single problem I’m up to k. My last car was a Camry, I traded it in with k, still ran great no issues as well, the wife made me do it, she was sick of looking at it.
Toyota and Honda are hands down the best cars to have in my book.
